Mt. Tallac - Take 2
Aug 25, 2010 at 7:48 PM
Back in the beginning of June J and I attempted to climb Mt. Tallac, lost the trail with all of the snow and never made it to the summit. We finally went back to re-attempt it after almost all of the snow had melted at the end of July. It was the most difficult hike I've ever been on in terms of steepness and difficulty. The hike starts out at an altitude of 6,480' and ends at 9,735'. Considering we started out at an elevation pretty close to sea level, it was an extreme change!
The great news is that it was all totally worth it, there were wildflowers as far as we could see and the weather was absolutely perfect. The back side of the mountain reminded me of what I would think the Swiss Alps look like in the summer. I even got to see plenty of my absolute favorite flower, the indian paintbrush.
What a wonderful day, and with such wonderful company (Bella and J) I couldn't have asked for a better hike.
